Beyond the Masc was a group interactive website project created in support of the YWCA’s AMEND Together program. The goal was to design an engaging tool for young boys learning how to recognize and stand up against bullying and toxic masculinity.
As a team, we developed the overall concept and brand guidelines before splitting into smaller groups to focus on different areas. Our idea took shape as a choose-your-own-adventure style game, where users navigate scenarios and make decisions that model positive behavior.
I began on the writing team, helping to develop the characters and outline the branching storylines that guided users through multiple outcomes. Once the writing and research were complete, I moved to the prototyping team, where I worked on animating the website for presentation.
The final website received highly positive feedback from the AMEND Together representatives and was considered to be developed into a working learning aid for their program.
